Roulette: count the zeros
The most important fact about any roulette table is the number of zero pockets. European roulette has one zero, American roulette adds a double zero, and that extra pocket increases the house edge on nearly every bet. Some tables also offer rules that return part of an even-money stake when the ball lands on zero — look for them in the table rules. If a lobby offers both single- and double-zero wheels, the single-zero table is the better default.
Bets fall into two groups. Inside bets cover single numbers or small groups and pay a lot rarely; outside bets such as red/black or odd/even pay little but often. No betting system changes the edge built into the wheel. Progressions that double the stake after a loss only move risk into rare, very expensive losing streaks.
Blackjack: decisions matter
Blackjack is the one classic where your decisions change the result over time. You play against the dealer, aiming closer to 21 without going over; cards count face value, pictures ten, aces one or eleven. You choose to hit, stand, double down or split pairs. Following basic strategy — the mathematically best decision for each hand against each dealer card — keeps the house edge low. Deviating from it on instinct raises it.
Rules differ by table: how many decks are used, whether the dealer stands or hits on soft 17, and what a natural blackjack pays. A table that pays less for blackjack than the traditional 3:2 costs you more over time, even if everything else looks identical. Read the rules panel before sitting down.
Baccarat: three bets, few choices
Baccarat asks you only to choose Player, Banker or Tie; the drawing rules are fixed. The Banker bet usually carries a commission on wins, which is how the game balances the Banker hand's slight advantage. The Tie bet pays highly but has a much larger house edge — it is the bet to skip if you want the game to last. Baccarat is fast, so session length and budget matter more than strategy.
Casino poker
Casino poker variants such as Casino Hold'em or Three Card Poker are played against the dealer, not other players. You decide whether to continue after seeing your cards, and payouts depend on the final hand. Side bets with large multipliers are common; they are almost always the part of the table with the highest edge.
Table limits and bet size
Each table shows a minimum and maximum stake. Choose a table where the minimum is a small fraction of your session budget, so a few losing hands do not end the evening. In blackjack and baccarat, rounds are quick; the number of hands per hour multiplies the effect of any edge.
