Sports Betting at Razed: Odds, Margin and the German Rules

Razed presents a sportsbook alongside its casino. Before anyone compares football markets or live odds, one question comes first for a bettor in Germany: is the provider allowed to take bets from you? Legal sports betting providers appear on the official whitelist of the GGL, the joint gambling authority of the German federal states. We do not state whether Razed's operator is listed — search it at gluecksspiel-behoerde.de and compare the company name with the imprint. This hub then explains the mechanics every bettor should understand: how odds are expressed, where the bookmaker's margin hides, how live betting and cash out work, and how to judge betting promotions. Sport-specific guides are linked at the bottom.

Reading odds

Continental European bookmakers usually show decimal odds. A decimal price is the total return per unit staked, including the stake: a 10 € bet at 2.50 returns 25 € if it wins, which is 15 € profit. Fractional odds, common in the UK, show only the profit relative to the stake (6/4 is the same price as 2.50). The implied probability of a decimal price is 1 divided by the odds — 2.50 implies 40%.

The margin: why the numbers never add up

Add up the implied probabilities of all outcomes of a market and you get more than 100%. The excess is the bookmaker's margin, also called overround. It is how a sportsbook earns money regardless of the result. Margins differ between sports, leagues and market types; niche markets and complicated props usually carry more than main markets on big events. You can calculate the margin of any market yourself: sum 1/odds for every outcome and subtract 1. We do not publish margins for Razed, because they vary by event and change constantly.

Live betting and cash out

Live (in-play) betting opens once an event has started. Prices move with every attack, point or wicket, and markets are suspended briefly after key moments while the line is reset. Live betting rewards preparation and punishes impulse: the speed that makes it exciting also makes it easy to place more bets than planned.

Cash out lets you settle a running bet early at the value offered at that moment. The offer is calculated from current odds and includes a margin, so over time using cash out costs money compared with letting bets run. It is a risk-management tool, not a way to "lock in" free profit. Where and whether cash out is available depends on the market and the operator.

Betting offers

Sportsbooks advertise free bets, odds boosts and bet insurance. The value depends entirely on the conditions: minimum odds for qualifying bets, whether the stake of a free bet is returned with the winnings, time limits, and wagering on any bonus credit. We do not list current offers; read the terms in your account before opting in. Our bonus terms guide explains the clauses that matter.

Placing a bet, step by step

  1. Choose an event you actually know something about.
  2. Open the market and select the outcome — it appears on the bet slip.
  3. Choose single or combination, enter your stake and check the total odds and potential return.
  4. Confirm and check the bet in your history.

Our bet types guide explains singles, accumulators, handicaps, totals and system bets in detail.

What a licensed provider must offer you

Providers on the GGL whitelist must be connected to OASIS, the cross-operator blocking system, and must implement deposit limits. If a provider is not on the list, those protections are not attached — a block in OASIS would not stop you there, and no deposit limit is required by German rules. Keep your betting budget separate from other money, set a deposit limit, and use the responsible gambling tools if betting starts to take up more space than you want.

Is sports betting at Razed legal in Germany?
That depends on whether the operator is on the GGL whitelist at the time you bet. Search the list at gluecksspiel-behoerde.de and compare the company name with the imprint. We make no statement either way.
How do I calculate the bookmaker's margin?
Add 1 divided by the decimal odds for every outcome of a market and subtract 1. The result is the margin; for two outcomes both priced at 1.90 it is roughly 5%.
Is cash out worth using?
It can limit risk, but the offered value includes a margin, so habitual use costs money over time. Use it deliberately, not by reflex.
What is the difference between an accumulator and a single bet?
A single depends on one outcome. An accumulator combines several selections; the odds multiply, but every leg must win, and the margins of all legs multiply as well.
